Important: All documents generated by this plugin are drafts intended as starting points. Management letters and financial documents should be reviewed by a qualified CPA before distribution. This plugin does not provide accounting or audit advice.

Installation

1. Download the pf-management-letters.plugin file
2. Open Claude Desktop and navigate to Settings > Plugins
3. Click Install Plugin and select the downloaded .plugin file
4. The plugin will be installed and available immediately

Note: All data stays local on your machine. No external API calls or cloud storage required.

Quick Start

1. Install the plugin
2. Run /management:management-setup — enter your firm name, client name, engagement year, and engagement type
3. Run /management:management-findings — log your audit findings
4. Run /management:management-generate — get your management letter
5. Run /management:management-tracker — get your findings status tracker
6. Run /management:management-review — validate the letter against professional standards

Or use /management:management-build to run steps 2-5 in one go.

Known Limitations

1. Draft output only — Generated letters are DRAFTS. A licensed CPA must review before distribution and insert management's responses where indicated.
2. No direct CPA software integration — Cannot import/export directly from CaseWare, PPC, or Thomson Reuters. Findings must be entered manually or via CSV.
3. Single-client per workspace — Each workspace is configured for one client engagement. For multiple clients, use separate workspace folders.
4. No digital signatures — Management letters are DOCX files; digital signature workflows must be handled by the CPA's own tools.
5. AI language drafting is advisory — Professional opening statements and impact language are AI-generated and must be reviewed by a CPA for accuracy and appropriateness before issuance.
6. Workpaper cross-references are manual — The plugin records workpaper references entered by the user but does not automatically link to workpaper files.
